Wolfgang Selijé: Schengat se mr. Time
Wolfgang Seljé takes us on a journey into his past. He recounts how he decided to become a singer, how he discovered Sinatra's music, and how he came up with the idea of writing Swabian lyrics to American swing classics. He talks about the value of time, the joy of being Swabian, "fattered shoelaces," and, of course, the greatest happiness of all: love.
He explores the relationship between Swabian and other world languages. He achieves this in a unique way with his humorous, yet completely nonsensical, GOODsla songs. However, his serious lyrics are particularly important to the artist. Songs like "Jeden Dag" (Every Day) or "Machs guat" (Take care) give one pause for thought and linger long after the concert ends.
Anecdotes and philosophical reflections blend with songs in their original languages to create a cheerful and entertaining program. Naturally, world-famous hits like "New York," "Fly Me to the Moon," and "Everybody Loves Somebody" are also included, performed in their original language.
This evening combines a unique cultural experience with the enjoyment of Portuguese cuisine. The ticket price includes a fine wine or a non-alcoholic beverage, as well as Portuguese olive oil with fresh bread, served by the castle restaurant.
The dry red wine from the Douro Valley, aged in barriques, seduces with a complex array of red fruit notes, perfectly complemented by subtle hints of cocoa and coffee. The white wine delights with its fruity aromas, in which the tropical fruits passion fruit and pineapple are clearly recognizable.
