Studnitzky Quartet

It has always been STUDNITZKY aka KY as a wanderer between the genres of jazz, classical, and electronic music. In his unusual music, no note seems too much. It is detailed, minimalist, transparent, yet possesses great emotional depth and is impressively unique. Here, something entirely new is being created: music that is too edgy for pop, too emotional for jazz, too lush for electronic music, too groovy for the avant-garde. The fact that STUDNITZKY performs at the highest international level as a trumpeter and pianist is a sensation in itself. Like few other instrumentalists of his generation, he has performed in clubs and at festivals around the world (with Nils Landgren's Funk Unit, Jazzanova, Mezzoforte, and Wolfgang Haffner). With the Berlin XJAZZ Festival, he has also created a format that has garnered international acclaim. Sebastian Studnitzky has taught as a professor at universities in Dresden, Berlin, and Zurich. STUDNITZKY was awarded the ECHO Jazz in the category "Best National Brass Player" in 2015 and received the OPUS Klassik in 2020 for his duo project with Sebastian Manz.
