E.T.A. Hoffmann's Tale in Virtual Reality
E.T.A. Hoffmann published the Gothic novel "The Sandman" in 1816. Its protagonist, Nathanael, lives in growing fear of the mysterious Coppelius. He is certain that Coppelius is the evil Sandman, who intends to gouge out his eyes.
Director Florian Moch presents this story, in which the boundaries between reality and fiction blur, in his own version and as the first co-production between the Augsburg Puppet Theater and the digital department at the Augsburg State Theatre.
