BORROMINI – or: THE SONG OF THE SERAPHIM
The "Song of the Seraphim" concludes the "Angels Project," with which the Theater im Schloss has portrayed the struggle between two brilliant architects. The moving reactions of the audience encouraged us to continue and complete the "Tower of Angels" through the medium of acting—in a theatrical performance that represents a coherent whole. The performance presents the hapless architect Borromini repeatedly encountering his rival in dreamlike scenes until he ends his suffering with a desperate act.
Based on this bitter confrontation between the two artists, the question of what art in general and architecture in particular can do to us is discussed on stage.
