St. George's Church

Written records mention a castle chapel located halfway between the town of Neuenbürg and the castle. The church probably existed as early as 1290. After the catastrophic town fire of 1783, it briefly served as a parish church. Due to its late medieval wall paintings, the church is considered one of the most important 14th-century architectural monuments in Baden-Württemberg. A characteristic feature is the picturesque half-timbered tower, where medieval construction techniques are still evident. One of the most beautiful spots in town is the old cemetery in front of the church. From there, the view down over the town can be enjoyed, especially in the afternoon sun.
