Twelve signals

Exhibition in the castle cellar from 25 April to 18 July 2004

New forum for contemporary art in Neuenbürg Castle

This year, the castle cellar beneath the south wing of Neuenbürg Castle will be available for exhibitions for the first time. The almost magical spatial effect of the almost 400 square meter cellar in Neuenbürg Castle exerts a great fascination on visitors and is particularly suitable for art projects. With the exhibition by Berlin artist Christina Kubisch, the Badisches Landesmuseum is launching a series that aims to offer contemporary artists a new forum in a historical setting. The Bremen-born artist, who is also a musician, has earned international renown for her light and sound installations. The exhibition "Twelve Signals" draws on Neuenbürg's mining tradition and uses visual and acoustic media to highlight the unique atmosphere of the 400-year-old castle cellar.
