Courageous departure
Exhibition of paintings by residents of the Sonnhalde nursing home in Neuenbürg from December 12.12.2004, 06.01.2005 to January XNUMX, XNUMX
On Sunday, December 12.12.2004, 3 (11.00rd Advent), an unusual exhibition will be opened at XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. in the Prince's Hall in Neuenbürg Castle.
Under the motto "Courageous Departure," members of the painting group at the Sonnhalde nursing home are exhibiting their paintings. "Courageous Departure" because the exhibitors, some of them very elderly, embraced a style of painting that was unfamiliar and untried to them, and because, despite all initial difficulties, they were able to develop their own visual language. The resulting paintings, both concrete and abstract, emerge authentically and coherently from the depths of the self, impressively and vividly depicting the various aspects of human existence. In their quiet beauty, they offer the viewer insights into a spiritual and mental world that focuses on the essence of the painters, who are rich in life experience.
Mayor Schaubel will open the exhibition with welcoming remarks.
Michaela Hauer, the art therapist at the Sonnhalde nursing home, will introduce the painters and their paintings. The ceremony will be accompanied by the artist Ja'el, who improvises by interweaving rhythm and tones on a newly developed Swiss instrument, the "Hang."
